Owning a house or investing in property is a major milestone in anyone’s life, and it’s important to make sure you’re working with a reputable and trustworthy real estate agent. The Georgia Real Estate Commission offers an online service to verify the validity of a real estate agent’s license.
How to Lookup a License
To lookup an agent’s license, you will need to visit the Georgia Real Estate Commission’s public license lookup page. There you can search for a specific agent by entering either a first and last name, or a license ID number.
You can also view all licensed agents in Georgia, or search for agents in a particular county.
The licensee lookup page provides the following information for each agent:
- Status: This will tell you if the license is active or expired.
- Name: This will tell you the name of the licensee.
- Address: You can find the licensee’s address.
- License Type: This tells you if the licensee holds a Salesperson or Broker license.
- Controlled Businesses: Here you can find any properties administered by the licensee.
The Georgia Real Estate Commission website also has a variety of resources available to help you understand the process of purchasing a home and the laws governing real estate activities in the state.
